County Kerry householder, Michael O’Brien, recently found out the consequences of not disposing of his household waste correctly. Mr. O’Brien was unable to produce to the Kerry County Council litter warden any records of how he disposed of his household waste, and as a result appeared before Judge David Waters at the local District Court. The solicitor for Kerry Council Council informed the Court that the maximum fine on conviction of this charge of failing to produce evidence of how domestic waste disposed of was €5,000. Judge Waters fined the defendant €400 and orderd him to pay costs of €130 to the Local Authority. Obviously a case of finding out the hard way that it does not pay to not care. So take it from the Bear… “BEWARE”
